NEWCASTLE, DE (April 6, 2014) AudioScience, Inc., a leader of professional audio peripherals for the broadcast and installed sound industries, has announced a new series of half height sound cards, the ASI6700. The first in the family, the ASI6788 will debut at NAB 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
- Said Richard Gross, President of AudioScience. 32 and 64bit drivers are provided for Windows 7, 8, Server 2003/2008, as well as for Linux. SDKs are available for Windows and Linux using either standard APIs such as DirectSound or ALSA, or the proprietary AudioScience HPI and ASX interfaces.
- The AudioScience Microsoft Windows™ 7 drivers enable multi-stream recording, reproduction, and mixing of PCM and compressed. digital audio on a PC platform. The Microsoft multimedia Wave, DirectSound, and DirectShow APIs are fully supported. The driver utilizes large adapter buffers to provide high performance, glitch-free audio.
- Drivers may be downloaded from the ASI website - I can provide a link if required. Some suggestions for matching apps are provided below (but not guaranteed by me). Providing 8 or 16 play streams that are mixed to 8 balanced stereo outputs and 8 record streams fed from 8 balanced stereo inputs, the ASI6788 features AudioScience’s unique “anything to anywhere” mixing and routing. The ASI6788 provides both balanced analog and AES/EBU inputs and outputs. The maximum analog input and output level is +24dBu. The addition of GPIO truly makes the ASI6788 a radio automation system on a card. The ASI6788 contains 8 opto-isolated inputs and eight relay isolated outputs. Standard features of AudioScience’s broadcast sound cards are also included such as MRX multi-rate mixing, TSX compression/expansion and SSX multi-channel mode.
